News & Updates #32

Ok! We had our first session last night, and I reckon it was pretty awesome. We met a whole plethora of new things when we entered the Southern District of The City of Calínatè. We managed to get ourselves jobs at The Blue Lagoon Tavern, and one us even managed to obtain an audience with the District Head, Marquis Aníl.

We had lost our memories, but were able to work out what was going on, eventually, learning about the Emblems, The Shùryàh, the City Guard and even managed to find a way to seek the Emblems without breaking the law, hopefully.

So, I haven't managed to include the background updates for the Héli campaign yet, and I still have to find some time to complete the Crest pages. But, you will see that there have been plenty of updates regarding all the new and exciting things about the new campaign. I have added all information to all of the following pages (you can find links to them on the right hand side of this page):

The Words

The Shùryàh
The Districts
The People

Ryúqol
Ygéà
Àlyré
Érrànyt

The Sérèf
The Sérèfi
The Language
The Runes

And so there is plenty to look over and be satisfied with.

Enjoy deciphering!

This will hopefully become a comprehensive list of all the terms we have already come across, and those which we discover as the campaigns run.

Imposing Restrictions

As we walked into the Southern District, we were faced with things that we did not understand. One of which was that if we did a whole bunch of weird and wonderful things, we might get killed, as an order of the Shùryàh. So who/what is the Shùryàh?

Well, at the moment we only know that they control The City of Calínatè, and they aren't to be see or heard from by the people who live in Calína. We also know that they have meetings every once in a month or so, and they are heralded by a symbol, known as the Cypher Rune, that can only be read with an item known as a Bàshón. This is a small torch-like device that emits a light that illuminates the message hidden in the Cypher Rune.

The Shùryàh imposes the rules, but it is the City Guard that enforce the rules. As you might have guessed, the City Guard have a few exceptions placed on how they can act such that they can arrest people for doing the wrong thing even when they might also be breaking the law while arresting them. They have also created a serious barrier over the whole of Calína in order to protect the people they are looking after. This barrier not only allows them to monitor the use of magic within the city very effectively, it is also strong enough that it cannot be penetrated by the Emblems at all.

More will appear as we learn it...

News & Updates #29

Ok, so I had a pretty rough weekend, and I had finally managed to complete all the pages that are part of "The Crests, in Detail" section. This obviously means that the information will be transferred over to the individual Crest pages soon. It also means that the only things left to complete from that side of things is the explanation behind the five Flares of each Crest.

So it shouldn't be too long before it's all done, and I can start on revealing the pages that you could have come across had we delved further into the plot of Héli...

News & Updates #27

Well now you can see that there are few new pages popping up. And the big reason is of course, I'm gearing up for the new campaign.

As I've mentioned in the other posts, I will be slowly adding all the missing information relating to the previous campaign, as it is meant to be common knowledge from the point of view of anyone in the present time of Córilìce. I plan to try and fill in the missing details on at least one post per day.

I have finished one of them, but just for fun, I won't tell you which one it was....

Enjoy sleuthing!

A Split Nation

There was once a time when the great continent of Nàbra, now the only continent on Córilìce that has two islands, was a whole land. This time is known as The Unity, and at this time the land was called Héli. There were special people who were born on Héli that had the ability to accept special responsibilities. These people were to eventually become known as the Flàré, and their journey was what the previous campaign was all about. Once these people had come into existence, it would be possible to free the Crests from their dungeons. These journeys were undertaken by four different generations of the people on Héli, and whether they knew it or not, they would undertake what is now known as the Píragòlé. In each generation, a new discovery would be made by the Flàré of the time as the Crest's power began to be too strong for the Làrasè that held them. Finally, the last generation of the Flàré had all the information they needed, and finally completed the Píragòlé.

However, this wasn't the end of the story. You see, in the history of Nàbra, there was a great battle that was fought between the Flàré, the Crests, and Élèm himself. Yes indeed, there were three parties to this fight, and as you may have guessed, the Flàré had become so overwhelmed with their own powers that they had been able to accrue during the Píragòlé, that they had become corrupted in their own beliefs as well, and decided that they were stronger than the beings that gave them their abilities. As a result, the Crests lashed out at their own Flàré, and it wasn't until the odd combination of the sibling Flàré for Gé and Téiq finally put aside their differences and quelled the uproar did Élèm finally step in and fix the mess he himself had first made.

He made one error. He hadn't accounted for the strength of the combined powers of Gé and Téiq in the form of the two sibling Flàré. And it seemed that in that instant he could have been removed from the equation altogether. Thus, in order to save the world he had created, he had to act drastically. He had to remove the Crests completely. But both Réinyn and Kilèsh had other ideas, and while they had to destroy their own lives in the process, they managed to fuse the Crests together while Élèm tried his best to remove their existence completely. Thus, from the remaining 10 Crests, 5 new beings were brought into existence. However, the surge of power throughout the land was enough to split the land of Héli in two, creating Nàbra as we now know it, as well as the seventh continent, Vérsi.

At the end of all of this, Élèm was severely reduced in his own powers and the Crests that controlled the Lifeforce of the planet were no longer. Many of the followers of both Gé and Téiq were devastated over this, and not much has been heard of them since this time. Life went on, and Élèm had to withdraw once again in order to build up his strength once more.

The History of Calína

For a long time, the people of Calína, mostly devout people who each had their own beliefs systems, lived a peaceful existence, tending to the plains, orchards and pastures, farming the lands around them. They lived a relatively profitable lifestyle, since not only did they produce some of the more rarer fruits and spices of Córilìce thus giving them a very profitable trade system with their nearest neighbours, Cryst and Prastésòli, they also had a good working relationship with the other peoples on the land such that they could trade without too much fuss and they all managed to stay afloat.

Occasionally, there was the odd conflict, most times between the devout of Àlyré and Ryúqol, but mainly there wasn't much to be said. During these times, the devout of Érrànyt spent their time tending to the land, while the devout of Ygéà spent their time roaming to find new places to settle and create more pastures. As a result, there were no wars on Calína. However, this all changed when the Shùryàh appeared.

Presumed to have come from an unknown continent far to the south of Calína, or just some pirates of the sea who had no real place that they could call home. The inhabitants of Calína did their best to drive off the invaders, but to their dismay, after a 10-year long campaign, the last dregs of the original owners of the land had to give in so that they could remain alive, and were forced to live under the new system that the Shùryàh imposed on them. This new system was the start of an entire régime whereby they systematically destroyed all the rights of the people, including their own, and created a region where what they said was law. One of the final things they did was create a city on the continent. One entire city. Known only as The City of Calína. The city is made up of 5 main areas, in one of which the Shùryàh resides.

Of all the rules they imposed, and possibly the most important, he disallowed any and all religion or devotion. Now, if you were one of the people who had just been made prisoner in their own land, the one thing you might think you have left, some sole type of sanity you could hold onto, that would be the devotion you would give to one of the higher beings you might worship. Once this is also taken away, you become a no-one, just another mindless slave of the new owners.

But, you might guess that those who are as oppressed as the people of Calína, people would still find ways to worship their gods in their own ways. The devout would spend time together once or twice a month in order to keep their devotion alive, and they would talk of the old times and how prosperous it was, and tell stories of the Sérèf and their known or mythical deeds on the other continents of Córilìce.

Interestingly, no-one has ever met the Shùryàh and they have only really met the five District Heads of the City, each own their respective District within the city.

More to come on this as we learn it.

Continental Relations: Calína

In this section, I will end up detailing some of the important ties and ways of interecting with the other continents that is important for the inhabitants of Calína. Of course, all continents are south compared to Calína, so you will probably find that I will start naming them and this will begin to draw a map of the whole world of Córilìce...

The Politics of Calína

So far, we have come to the understanding that the The City of Calínatè has four Districts, and thus four people who seem to be in charge of each District, the District Heads. As a minimum, they seem to be immune from all the rules that are placed upon the people of Calína, and they can make as many as they need to enforce the position of the Shùryàh as leader and ruler of the island.

Marquis Aníl is the first to have been met in person, which is an entirely odd achievement due to the fact that most have not even set eyes on the Marquis, though they know he must live in the Estate that is in the central area of the Southern District.

The City makes sure the rules are obeyed by the people of Calína by employing a large number of guards. The City Guard of the Southern District are very strict and wear light blue sashes so to distinguish them from any members of the guard in the different Districts. they enforce the law in the Southern District, and thus have many exemptions themselves in order for them to enforce said law.

In this section, we will delve deeper into the way the Shùryàh controls the entire City-continent that is Calína.

More will appear as we learn it...

Have I Met You?

Of course, in the wonderful new continent of Calína, there will be many people that we meet, most of course will be humans, as they are the only and therefore the predominant race on the island, but there might be some others of different races. In this section, I will detail the information that is pertinent to each and every one of them.

Ari:
A more straight-down-the-line-type of woman, Ari spends her time talking and plotting against the Marquis. She has fair looks and long blonde hair, making her very sought after. In fact, after meeting and having a very open conversation with the new bouncer of The Blue Lagoon, none other than Baccus, they disappeared quickly, not to be seen again til the morning. She is marked by Ryúqol, wearing the Ryúqoltè just inside her left shoulder, underneath her garments. It looks sort of blue, like a tattoo. She is the leader of the Southern Uprising and feels that the party could be very useful to their endeavours.

Àlayà:
We first met Àlayà when she was being fawned over by two skinny men and the two bouncers of The Dragoon, a Tavern on the eastern side of the Southern District. The most distinctive features about her is the short vest and skirt that she wore as well as the long blond hair that she wears in a high pony-tail, and of course the fact that she's an elf. She was not well-received upon her entry to the island after being ditched by rogue pirate crew, most likely of Calína origin, who decided rather than take her to Prastésòli on the high seas, ended up returning home instead and left her stranded. She is a follower of Ygéà and gave us much helpful information about more of the Sérèfi.

Bóhbérriàt:
One of the most strict members of the guard who is seen to commonly frequent the Southern Plaza. He is the largest human you have ever met, a giant at 8'3''. His whole family, brother, sister, mother and father and since been disposed of as they all broke the law. He has such a fear of breaking the law himself, he forces all others to uphold the law. He knows perhaps too much about the laws to do with fornication, and prefers that his fanciful name be not known to many, thus he calls himself Bóhb. He owns both an apartment in the Southern District, as well as a house with his wife in the Western end of the Southern District. It is not uncommon for guards to have a rest house while they are on duty.

Nàshe:
This lovely man is a devout of Ryúqol and also the owner and barkeep of The Blue Lagoon Tavern in the Southern District. He is of medium build , has brown hair and green eyes. He follows the teaching of Ryúqol very seriously and can be of a lot of help as a result. He has one of the highest rates for his Inn, not to mention the food he serves.

Marquis Aníl:
This man is wears a feather or two in his hat, spends far too much time on how he presents himself, but then spends the rest of his day in his day room, behind his desk. No-one sees him much, so if he ever gets out, he would be considered one of the common folk that is just dressed a little more flamboyantly. He is the District Head of the Southern District of The City of Calínatè. He governs the entirety of the Southern District and what he says goes as he is one step below The Shùryàh. He has a small weakness to the idea that people would kill for him rather than himself, other than that, he is bent on killing anyone who disobeys the law. He is a son of House Drèklóhàn.

Míyà:
Míyà certainly seems to cause more trouble than she's worth. She heads the meetings that are taken place to connect the devout of Ryúqol. She tells the people of the meeting that she is the leader of the Southern Uprising and that she will be the one to lead them to victory over the Marquis. She is most certainly highly skilled with the knife and has been seen to so far pull four knives at one time. It is of interesting note that she doesn't really care for security much and at night, her blue eyes can be seen to be sparkling with an almost flickering-flame deep aqua blue colour that is almost certainly unnatural...

Rihzah:
This huge man has a hearty laugh, and is always good for a drink whenever you need company. He has spent many a year traveling throughout the whole of The City of Calínatè, and knows many of the shorter distance between the different Districts, and many of the underground routes as well. He is much more well-known for his charismatic behaviour as well as his size. He is almost twice a normal man abreast, is 7ft tall with a beard that runs a ring around his head. He is by far the most stand-out member of any crowd. He told the party that he leads the Northern Rebellion, which must mean he has been marked by Àlyré. This was later confirmed to us when he showed us his marking, underneath his left arm, the idea Rune Àlyrété. He seems to know one member of the party well and has a strong loyal connection with them, the same member carrying the Emblem Rune for Àlyré. He is now known to be a descendant of the Anísíhn of Àlyré.

Ríyàh:
This lovely, but slightly quiet scholar is one of the hidden members of the devout of Ryúqol. She is a smaller girl with short, thin red hair to her shoulders and blue eyes. Living under the protection of Nàshe, she spends her time learning the ways of the Ryúqol and teaching them to others. She also researches Cypher and wears the idea Rune, Ryúqoltè, on her forehead. She knows people within the Southern Uprising and can get you access to the meetings that are held fairly frequently. She is also known to be a descendant of the Anísíhn of Ryúqol.

A District Way of Thinking

Calína has five major Districts. Each have their own head, known simply as the District Head, and each District is named for the Cardinal point they are closest to, with the exception of the Central District as, well, it doesn't really point to any of the four Cardinal points.

This section will detail the important information we uncover from each of the Districts we visit in our travels.

The Southern District:
When we arrived in Calína, we entered through the South Gateway and walked right into a plaza of cobbled stone pathways and a fountain in the centre. There were shops lining the walls of this small area, selling things from cloth to spices to food items. In the corner left of the plaza, furthest from the gate, there is a Tavern which goes by the name The Blue Lagoon, and sports a symbol on its front door that is the symbol for Ryúqol. The owner and barkeep of this Tavern is a lovely man by the name of Nàshe. Inside this Tavern, it is allowed by law to worship the Emblem of Ryúqol, but it must be kept to oneself and not shared with the anyone else. There is an Inn next door which is known as The Blue Lagoon Inn, and it also owned by Nàshe. The two are connected internally, so patrons can drink past the curfew and still get to bed without going outside. Underneath the Tavern, through the Cellar, is one of the entries to the underground network of corridors which lick practically the entire Southern District. It also leads to a hidden cave/cage arena where Nàshe has his patrons fight for entertainment.

Through a small passageway, heading closer to the centre of the whole City, there is a gardens with hedges and paved walkways, small fountains and a few trees. Across this expanse is an Estate as large as a Castle, and it is known as the Southern Estate. The place is home to the District Head, otherwise known as Marquis Aníl. The place has been run for centuries by the members of the House of Drèklóhàn. Inside, there is a huge hall with large columns leading to a blue velvet staircase. On the right at the top of the stairs is a door that opens up to a large room filled with light blue silk drapes hanging over the windows and from the ceiling. At the far end of the room is where you can meet with the Marquis should he ever wish to kill you. The room is always filled with guards, lining the room so that the Marquis is always protected.

Further East, one can find two more taverns, one of which is closer to the Armourer and Weapon specialist, called The Dragoon, whose female bartender and owner/proprietor is very annoyed that she isn't the one who has the rights over which Tavern can be used for the worship of Ryúqol.

Truth or Legend?

Rather than tell the History as the fable that was passed on for generation after generation after the Crests first arrived, I will now detail the accurate History of the creation of the Crests.

In a world where there was nothing of importance to begin with, Élèm created the Crests. He thought that by doing so, he would be able to take a load off and have the Crests manage Córilìce in his place. They were each to govern an element of the world that Élèm controlled, they idea was simple enough.

So, he had a look at the people who lived on the world, assigned some of the races to be more suited for the certain Crests and went about choosing his disciples. Yes, that's right, the Crests were originally just normal people much like you or me. He took each one aside and asked whether they would like the opportunity to turn their lives around and use them for a greater cause, the protection of the entire globe. You can imagine that this wasn't really a question for most of them, it was what they had been looking for, their whole life. And thus, they told the story a million times, and trumped it up every time such that it became more of a legend than the truth.

But in terms of the order, both Gé and Téiq, a female and a male, both Halflings who were, at the time, the leaders of the twp largest gathering of Halflings across Héli, were the first to receive their gifts. Gé received the ability to control the Spirit and Téiq received the ability to control that which was dead or dying. They soon learned how to control all of their abilities and in the process became highly powerful beings who were no longer bound by mortal end. They began to roam the country and their followers became worshippers and they were loved.

Soon after, the other Crests appeared, first the tenable ones: Frònéi, a high ranking member his underground Gnome rebellion; Véri, an abnormally named female Orc of the new generation; Ynèré, the strongest male fighter of the largest Dwarf clan at the time; Clèsi, the second in command of the largest Human tribe on the map; Lòég, the female soothsayer at the time for the same clan of Dwarves; and Nàrrice, another oddly named Orc from the other side of the continent. Once they had been given their abilities and abused them, they came to realise that they should possibly stop abusing them in order to keep the balance of the world intact, and thus after this little tumultuous period, the last four inner circle Crests were revealed: Éru, a sweet elven girl who wasn't anybody in particular, but highly focused on understanding life after death; Úshk, one of the most depressed and outwardly sinister, male Human of the land, known for his leadership in more than 6 thievery and spy teams; Dàé, literally the oldest woman elf on the globe at the time; and Lsòla, the most outspoken male member of the Gnomes at the time.

The rest, as they say is history. They eventually became too strong and Élèm locked them away, so they created the items of power and spread them to their worshippers, and those who were their lineal descendants could receive the abilities from the items and were called the Flàré. Finally, after four generations of the Flàré, the evil half-brother, the one known as Kilèsh decided the way to remove the curse of the Crests was to destroy all of the Flàré and other known descendants in order to destroy the blood-line. But these actions created time rifts, only reparable by Élèm himself, which is why so many of the people from the future were forcibly brought back to form an instant group to fight against Kilèsh. Of course, Kilèsh eventually worked out what had happened, especially when he met one of the new Flàré from the future, and realised his mistake. He spent the rest of his time making it difficult for the new group to complete their Píragòlé, but once he couldn't stop it any further, he helped them all rebel against their creators, the Crests and the The Great Divide occurred. Since them, the world has been relatively peaceful...

The Emblem of Ygéà

Ygéà is the Emblem related to the manipulation of the gaseous.

Ygéà, known to many as the Illusory Aura, and who is said to bring movement to the room, has never revealed her true form. She was originally two separate beings, both of whom had mortal beginnings. Her colour was thus chosen to represent the leaves and her symbol is meant to describe the cardinal points of the world. Those marked by her, are said to be the most hasty people of Córilìce.

A few less important details about Ygéà are that Eastern District of Calína is home to the devout of this Emblem, and they are at war with the West.

A Rod for a Back

So, it seems we will be meeting some of these types of items, and thus, there should be a page dedicated to what they are. Simply put, it is a specialised type of Impyrà. In other words, it has the same effect as an Impyrà, but it also has a use beyond the added bonus you receive. Known to most, in the common tongue as the Emblem Rod, these are unique to each Emblem and form one of the Sérèfi.

As we have come across a Rod that was in the possession of a newcomer, but has found its home with its rightful wielder, I will give its details below:

Garnet Rod: This rod is shaped like the bell-end of a trumpet, with the section repeating itself, bell facing upwards, such that there are five bells to the Rod, with the last having a nice, rounded structure inside the top bell. It is a brown colour and made of mahogany. An interesting thing to note is that when the Garnet Amulet came in contact with the rod, some words appeared on the top most section of the Rod. They appeared in Cypher:

Don't Rune This

As you might have guessed, the language of Cypher is a whole plethora of characters. These characters are called Runes. What they mean and how they work together will an interesting mystery we watch unfold. This section will be dealing more specifically with the Runes that you come across in game. That is, once we learn which symbols are which in terms of their individual letter translation, I will include them here.

So far, we haven't specifically had any of the letter Runes revealed to us yet.

Cypher This One

Indeed, it may be a terrible play on words, but the ancient language of the Emblems has never fully been understood. Many have spent their lives trying to work out how the langauge works, but most have failed. Known as Cypher, the language is an combination of sounds they are rather incomprehensible to any common speaker and it is formed of a type of heiroglyphics that is highly complex.

So we learned in last nights session that Cypher is made up of both characters that are specific letter and characters that are complete ideas. This will make for deciphering this language a little harder than first thought. However, we met a lovely girl, Ríyàh, who wore the idea Rune, Ryúqoltè, on her forehead:

She also knew the Runic Translation for it as well:

Ryúqoltè

In the second session, we met a lovely girl by the name of Ari who was quite happy to inform us that the gifts we had received from Rihzah were called Impyrà:

Impyrà Rune

And she also knew it's Runic Translation as well:

Impyrà

As we journey throughout The City of Calínatè, we will hopefully uncover more of the mystery that surrounds Cypher.

An Added Effect...

So we finally obtained one of these things. It is an item, of course, and individually, it is known as an Impyrà. But this word can also be used to describe a group of these items as well. As with all of these special items, they have been around or a while, and as such have their own Rune, otherwise known as an idea Rune. The Rune for Impyrà is below:

Impyrà Rune

Of course, as this is a Runic symbol that has its own name, it has a Runic Translation as well:

Impyrà

Now, noting that the word is both plural, and singular, this would mean there are more than one, perhaps? Well, indeed that is the case, as we were given not one, but four of these beautiful little objects. It was Rihzah who first gave us the Amulets. These are lovely little jewels that hang from a pendant. Each of them are of slightly different shape, and have an inscription in Cypher embedded into them. Once we know what they do, I will list their attributes here as well, but for now, I will only list them by name.

The Sérèfi

When we were talking to the Marquis Aníl, the Southern District Head, we were warned that should we be carrying any of these, we would almost instantly be killed.

These items are said to be almost mythical, or legendary, in the sense that they are talked about like they are a fabled item, something that the Sérèf can use should they feel the need to. They were not meant to exist, according to the Elf, Àlayà, that we met recently in our journeys. The most important thing to remember is that legends tell of five unique items that are created from the precious stone of the Emblems and once combined can give the person who wields them great power. It is said that one must yield to the Sérèfi in order to use the powers they grant.

For further clarification, the Sérèfi is a collection of items of power. The term is used widely to group the items together, it is both plural and singular. Should you be holding an item of power of one of the Emblems, then you would be a holding a Sérèfi. Should you have more than one in your possession, then would would have a few of the Sérèfi.

The word originally means "of the Sérèf". So, the items were once items that belonged to each of the Sérèf. Why they are no longer in their possession is still a mystery. Each item is said to be very valuable and can heighten the sense of the person who holds it. And we have been told that there is a legend that when the Sérèfi are combined, something special happens.

We have come across one of the Sérèfi - the Impyrà. This one of the Sérèfi of which there are quite a number of them. So far, we have obtained Amulets which are Impyrà, one for each precious stone associated with the Emblems.

We now know that there are five types of items that are part of the Sérèfi. These are an Amulet, a Talisman, a Charm, a Star, and a Rod. We also know that the Amulet is one of Impyrà. As we journey throughout the City of Calínatè, we will probably find these items. I will add them here when we do.

The Sérèf

When we were talking to the Marquis Aníl, the Southern District Head, we were accused of hiding a Sérèf in our midst. He then went on to explain that the Sérèf is a Champion of the Emblem, one who is able to wield some of the Emblem's power, and therefore an evil being.

However, depending on which way you view it, the Sérèf is a being of good nature that could threaten the position of the Shùryàh, and as such, they don't want them to be anywhere near Calína.

In fact, the Sérèf is a mortal being. They are similar to the Flàré from the past in that they can utilise some of the Emblem's abilities and powers just by being themselves. The difference between the Sérèf and the Flàré is that the Sérèf do not require any items in order to access their abilities. They do have items that they created and imbued with power, but these were only tools to be used in case they were weak. There are four known Sérèf in the world of Córilìce at the moment and they are all assumed to be on different continents.

Because of the barrier placed over Calína, they too cannot reach the isle.

As we learn more about the Sérèf, I will add to this page.

An Emblem to Remember

You will remember that the world that we were a part of in the first campaign was a world set well in the past of the current 7 continent version of Córilìce (I say it that way as the inhabitants of Héli didn't really know too much at all of all the other continents). And we know that sometime in the past from now (or the future from the first campaign), there was a disruptive event that changed Héli forever. Now known as Nàbra, that continent has had it's history told (and the parts missing will be added in soon enough), but this is now the story of the present.

The most important thing to know is that the Crests are a thing of the past. In the present day, the people of all the continents worship the Emblems. They are, like the crests, semi-mortal beings that can be called upon, and talked to. They were originally mortals, but since having gained access to vast powers, they aren't going to be dying any time soon. They have their own Champions each, known as Sérèfs, and are lazy in the sense that they effectively task their Sérèf to keep the balance of the elements in check. They will come down and fix things if the Sérèfs don't have much power at the time they need it, but otherwise, they sit in unknown places in a realm similar to that of the Gods.

There are four known Emblems, one for each of the classical elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. And if we remember the past about how the Crests were fused together, and we know the remaining ones, we can begin to guess at who was fused with who... More to come on this soon...

An interesting thing to note is that it seems that most of the Emblems are at odds with the other Emblems. They have differing reasons as to why they dislike them, but for some reason, there is little if any alliances that have been formed between any of them.

The Anísíhn Line

So we learned recently that there are families of ancient origin within the people of Calína. Not only are they of ancient origin, but they are family lines that have guarded what might be the most sought after item. They managed to keep it secret for centuries, and until only recently this secret was still well kept. However, the members of the party have just learned about two members, one from the North and one from the South, the latter of the two was extremely surprised about their knowledge of the ancient families.

The name, ancient family, is actually more of a colloquialism. They go by a different name in actuality, and that is Anísíhn. There are known thus as the Anísíhn of the Emblem they worship and guard many secrets that they have sworn to never tell anyone outside the family. Perhaps in desperate times, there are situations that call for desperate measures? Below you can find information relating to the Anísíhn as we learn it.

The Anísíhn of Àlyré:
So far, we have only met one member of this family, and his name is Rihzah. He leads the the Northern Rebellion and carries the idea Rune, Àlyrétè, underneath his left arm. He is hearty fellow and very loyal to his cause.

The Anísíhn of Ryúqol:
So far, we have only met one member of this family, and her name is Ríyàh. She leads a quiet life studying the ways of Ryúqol and the language of Cypher. She carries the idea Rune, Ryúqoltè, on her forehead.

The Restricted Land, Calína

Set in the time well past The Great Divide, whereby the land known in it’s time as Héli was split by both rising water and sinking land into the continent we now know as Nabra, in a world of magic and a world of choice, the land of Calína is most notably the most contrasting of them all. Instead of the freedom that you might expect would be a theme throughout the whole of Córilìce, Calína runs on a system of rules so regimented, no-one who lives there can tell you each and every one. The reason behind this is a fairly simple one – there is one ruler of this land and as such, they dictate the rules by which they run the continent.

The land of Calína stands tall and proud as the most northern continent of all the six continents. However, tall and proud are probably the wrong adjectives to use as this is the smallest of all the continents of Córilìce – something the ruler of the land finds most annoying when they are confronted with those who govern the larger continents. Also, due to its smaller size, finding it can be difficult, as it is more North than one would expect to begin with, but with a special non-magical navigating system, one that the craftsman of Calína are famous for, and knowing the right coordinates to follow, many seafarers can eventually make their way up to the small continent.

Being so North doesn’t affect it’s temperatures too much though as the poles on Córilìce are much further North than the continent is situated. The Northern-most end of Calína is most certainly colder than all other continents of the whole of Córilìce, but of course, the fact that the northern part of a continent is colder than the southern part is true of all the continents.

Now, I mentioned earlier that there is a need to use a special non-magical navigating system. So, the most valid question would be why specifically must it be a non-magical one? Surely there are a plethora of spells, in a range of strengths, which could guide our intrepid seafarers to the continent? Well, you might be astounded to know that one of the regimented rules set in place by the ruler of the land is that there is to be no use of magic at all. The reason behind this is known only to those who give council to the ruler, but the citizens just accept it as law and abide by it. In fact, most have come to the understanding that there must be some sort of dome that encompasses the entire island that allows the detection of magic throughout the entire island. Either that, or the guards have amazing sense of being able to know where and when magic was used as they always appear within 5 minutes of an arcane magic spell having been used.

It is interesting to note that of all the lands, the ruler of Calína is the most feared of all who govern each continent. Perhaps it is by this fear that he rules the people of Calína? Or perhaps, they are just all so laissé faire, they just don’t care anymore. The mystery behind this new place will soon unfold as our new explorers traverse the land and discover its secrets.

Something Special

Something new is happening. A new campaign is being designed. It will cover one of the new continents in this world. As a result, due to the new one coming up, I will eventually add in all the extra detail to the old posts regarding Nàbra and Héli such that they hold the complete set of information.

Be sure to check this place out soon for teasers and small bits of information for the new campaign.

Enjoy perusing!
